Different product types. Different budgets. The right choice depends on your bathroom.
THE TWO OPTIONS
Comfort upgrade or simple start?
A premium electric seat and an entry-level attachment—not equivalent feature sets. Compare the total installed cost, including any electrical work or extra fittings.
ELECTRIC SEATPremium feature level
TOTO WASHLET S5
SW3446#01 · Elongated · Cotton White
Choose this if warm water, a heated seat, and a warm-air dryer matter to you—and your bathroom can support the electrical connection.
Mechanical attachment with pressure-control knobs and a nozzle-rinse mode. This is the original NEO 120, not the Plus.
Toilet fit
Check your specific round or elongated bowl, seat hinges, and tank access in LUXE’s compatibility checker. Seat shape and clearance still matter; “fits most” is not a guarantee.
Power & plumbing
No electricity. Uses the toilet’s fresh cold-water supply through a T-adapter and hose. Inaccessible tank fittings may require an alternate kit.
Water temperature
Unheated water only. No temperature control, heated seat, or warm-air dryer. Water can feel cold, especially in winter.
Installation
Lift off the seat, position the attachment, reinstall the seat, and connect the supply. Check for leaks and stable seat support; some setups need extra parts.
A good fit if you want a basic rear wash, are comfortable with cold water, and have accessible, compatible plumbing.
Consider another option if warm water or a separate front-wash nozzle is essential, or your seat and fittings fail the compatibility check.

MEASURE FIRST. BUY SECOND.
Three checks before checkout.
Identify your toilet.Find its model, then measure from the seat mounting holes to the front of the bowl. TOTO describes typical elongated bowls as 18½ inches and round bowls as 16½ inches. Shape alone does not establish compatibility.
Look at the water connection.Check shutoff-valve operation, fitting access, and whether the supply line is rigid. Use the manufacturer’s instructions for your setup; do not force incompatible fittings.
Plan for power, if needed. The S5 needs the specified grounded GFCI outlet. If one is missing, have a qualified electrician assess installation. The NEO 120 needs no outlet.
Follow the complete manufacturer instructions. Ask a qualified installer when the fit, plumbing, or electrical work is uncertain. Renters should check permission before modifying fixtures.
BEFORE YOU BUY
Fit & installation, plainly.
Will either one fit any toilet?
No universal fit is promised. The linked S5 is an elongated replacement seat. For the NEO 120, check the bowl, existing seat, hinges, and plumbing access with LUXE’s compatibility tool. Confirm unusual one-piece or concealed connections with the manufacturer.
Do I need a hot-water connection?
Neither option uses a hot-water line. The S5 heats cold supply water electrically. The NEO 120 does not heat the water; the NEO 320 is a different LUXE model with different requirements.
Can I install it myself?
Some compatible installations use the supplied mounting and plumbing parts. Shut off the water and follow the exact model’s manual, including leak checks. A rigid supply line, inaccessible fittings, an unstable seat, or a missing suitable outlet can require additional parts or professional work.
What if the attachment leaves a gap under my seat?
Do not use an unsupported or unstable seat. Consult LUXE’s installation guidance for your seat shape; appropriate bumpers or a different compatible seat may be needed. Check this before ordering.
Have you tested these products?
No. This guide compares manufacturer-published specifications and installation requirements. The suitability notes are editorial judgments based on those differences, not hands-on results, endorsements, or health claims.
